Iberian giants Portugal and Spain have booked their places at the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024™ in style.
In European qualifying Group D, Italy’s surprise 4-2 loss in Slovenia opened the door for Spain. The two-time global kings made sure of a first-place finish with a resounding 7-1 win over Czechia, Pablo Ramirez, Juan Emilio, Boyis, Antonio Perez and Raul Gomez, Francisco Paniagua and Francisco Tomaz getting their goals.
Portugal, who won the last two UEFA Futsal EUROs and Lithuania 2021, saw off their only remaining challengers Finland in Group E. Goals from Pany Varela, Tiago Brito, Bruno Coelho, Joao Matos and Pauleta ensured an emphatic 5-0 win.
Uzbekistan 2024, the 10th edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup, will kick off in September 2024.
