SpaceX Publishes Images of Interior Design of Starship&#۸۲۱۷;s HLS Version

SpaceX has released several delightful photos of the interior design of the HLS version or the “Human Landing System” of its massive Starship spacecraft. NASA intends to utilize this spacecraft in the Artemis 3 mission to transport astronauts to the surface of the moon.

If SpaceX’s claim about this spacecraft is true, astronauts will have ample space to move inside it. It is evident from the two published photos that the actual size of this spacecraft will be quite large, with four astronauts seated in chairs near the windows.

The Starship is almost 10 meters wide, providing space for space teams as they are transferred from the Orion capsule in lunar orbit to its South Pole.

SpaceX stated in the latest description on the page related to this mission:

“Starship can carry more individuals and larger payloads compared to the Apollo lunar lander that humans last used to explore the moon.”

Whether the HLS version for NASA’s Artemis 3 mission scheduled for 2028 will be ready on time is still unclear. According to some reports, SpaceX has faced major challenges in its efforts to expand its launch platform. The latest Starship test, its eleventh test flight, was completed last month, with the rocket gently landing in the Indian Ocean an hour after liftoff. However, SpaceX has yet to prove its ability to land on solid ground.

SpaceX must demonstrate the rocket’s refueling capabilities in orbit before the Artemis 3 mission. It seems that the HLS version needs at least ten Starship launches to bring sufficient fuel to reach the moon’s surface.

Therefore, Elon Musk’s space company must undertake many tasks to be part of NASA’s historic mission to reach the moon in 2028. Meanwhile, Shawn Duffy, NASA’s acting administrator, recently mentioned that the space agency plans to also utilize Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, one of SpaceX’s significant competitors, for its Artemis mission.
